Death in the dark.

Arriving in the town of Squill the party break up an angry mob of towns people. Talking to the local inn owner the party discover that 12 murders had occured in the town in the last 2 weeks. The townspeople suspect an 8 year old halfling boy all the victims had previously been unkind to the boy and shortly after turned up dead. The party rules out possession and shapeshifters whilst Eryn went to examine the last body found. Quickly ruling out a werewolf and vampires the body has been pierced with sharp claws and then ripped apart.
A disturbance in the graveyard causes the party to investigate. Heading to the graveyard the party discover a corpse flower an abomination that forms when an evil wizard is laid to rest. Defeating the flower the party speak to the ghost of a paladin who was the husband of the local cleric. The paladin defeated a necromancer here 6 months ago this caused the corpse flower to appear. More concerning is that the necromancer was attempting lichdom however the ritual was not completed and the necromancer became a boneclaw. This is grave news for the party the only way to kill a Boneclaw is to convince the person it attached itself to, to give up the evil in it's heart. The party suspect the inn keeper who has shown to be extremely protective of the boy suspected of the murders.
Back in town another murder has occurred and the inn keeper has fled with the child. Tracking them to a cave Reese implores the inn keeper to give up the evil in his heart explaining the situation. Running out of options she strikes the child and the boneclaw appears and attempts to strike down Reese. The bone claw passes right through her and disintegrates the inn keeper witnessing the monster being what he needed to rid the darkness in his heart.
