The Empire of Zalara

The Empire of Zalara is a powerful and advanced civilization located in the heart of the continent. It is known for its grand cities and rich culture. The empire is ruled by a powerful emperor, who is both a political and spiritual leader. The empire is divided into several provinces, each governed by a governor who is appointed by the emperor.
The capital city of the empire is Zunara, a sprawling metropolis filled with grand temples and bustling markets. The city is home to the imperial palace, where the emperor resides, as well as the grand temple of the empire's patron god, Kasanari the spider. The city is also home to the empire's elite, including wealthy merchants, powerful priests, and skilled artisans.
Zalara is known for its advanced technology, particularly in the fields of metallurgy and engineering. The Zalaran people have mastered the art of creating intricate and beautiful works of metal and stone.
The empire is deeply religious, with a pantheon of gods and goddesses who are honored in grand temples and shrines throughout the empire, each of which believed to be a Zalaran ancestor who ascended to godhood. The most prominent god is Kasanari, the god of wisdom and trickery, who is said to have helped the Zalaran people rise to power. The empire is also known for its vibrant cultural festivals and ceremonies, which celebrate the gods and the cycle of the seasons.
The empire has a complex system of social classes, with the emperor and the elite at the top, followed by the wealthy merchants and powerful priests. The common people, including farmers and artisans, make up the lower classes. It is possible to move between these classes, with moiblity easier amongst the central classes (merchants and traders) than it is for the very highest and very lowest members.

Structure

Zalara has a very complex internal class structure that involves herritige, wealth, political standing, and religious prominence. At the top of the struture sits the emperor, ruler of all and appointed by divinity. Below the emperior are their direct relatives, below them is the spouse of the emeror. This is then followed by the govenors of the provences that are appointed by the emperor. This hierarchy goes down all the way to farm workers who are tethered to the land by those that own it.
