The Church of the Six

The Church of the Six is the most influential religion in the Union of Bellcrest. It is a polytheistic religion with five deities: The Warrior, The Shadow, The Singer, The Healer, The Mage, The Hunter.   The Churches for this religion are known as Sects and they are hexagonal buildings, pointed towards the rising sun and having the entry at the lower door.

Mythology & Lore

In the begining, the world was a wild and dangerous place. Monsters roamed free and dark elven magic pervaded the world. Humanity cowered in the dark places and feared the the dangers outside their caves.   The Six looked down from their thrones in Paradise and thought humanity good, but they needed guidance.   The Fight filled some people with courage and force. He taught the art of combat and showed the peoples of Itherün how to defeat their enemies.   The Shadow taught the importance on remeaning hidden, teaching the ways of stealth and secrecy, allowing those first men to steal the secrets of dark elven magic and foil the monstrous plans before they were seen   The Hunt showed us the way of survival, taking what we need from the land and taming the wilds for what we need. The Hunt showed how to find where our enemies dwell, tracking their evil through the wilds to cut them off at the source.   The Weave gave us great power, allowing us to defeat great forces that outweighed us by many to one. The Weave taught us sensible use of magic and how to control it.   The Song brought music to those early ancestors, teaching them melodies and harmonies and giving them the bower to bolster their allies and push back against the forces of darkness.   The great war gave us many injuries and much pain. To recover from the violence inflicted upon people by the world, The Compassion taught us how to heal and how to love, bolstering us and pushing us through.   Empowered by The Six, humanity pushed against the darkness and the dark magicks, and humanity emerged victorious and used their new will to forge the world in their image

Divine Origins

This religion has it's origins in the war that necessitated the seals. The Six gods were originally adventurers that were elevated to godhood after travelling the whole world to forge the seals.

Tenets of Faith

In the name of the Warrior, protect the faith and fight for what's right.   In the name of the Singer, give a voice to the holy and sing of the heroes to bolster the brave.   In the name of the Healer, dispense support to the needy and giving healing to those who need it.   In the name of the Mage, chanel your power to help the faithful and release fire onto enemies of the faith   In the name of the Hunter, temper the wilds and take what is needed from the land, and track down those that would end all that we fought for.   In the name of the Shadow, fear not which lurks in the dark, and be hidden from the enemies that would destroy the faith.
