The One Hundred Years of Blood and Shadow

After the Arcane Upheaval and the surprise ascension of the Goddess Mana, magic was fundamentally changed. Over the next few years, those of faith found that their prayers to the Gods were being answered less and less.   5 years after the ascension of Mana, the sun set on the world of Itaxia, and would not rise again for another century, as the twin moons of Itaxia hummed over the world with a piercing, crimson glow.   In the panic, groups of vampires who had been hiding across the world emerged and wreaked havoc, turning hundreds to their side.   At the end of the century, the population of Itaxia had been reduced to a comparative handful; it is believed that two-thirds of all mortal life was wiped out after the end of the Long Night, which also resulted in the loss of much of the knowledge from the Age of the Arcane.
