The Frozen Woods

It was around this time that a plague swept through the kingdom and it affected Nia, and she died. Heartbroken Ennis soon followed Nia into the next world leaving Ventris and her brother Elrin alone. Ventris fell into despair and with her powers froze her parents in ice caskets to preserve their bodies until she could bring them back to life. She ruled over the elves as their queen for many years but she never gave up her desire to bring back her parents. She became consumed with preventing death and found that by using her magic she could freeze everyone in time extending all their lives indefinitely. She spent even more years focusing on ways to expand her powers. She took from the snowcapped mountains the first snow to make her crown, from the rivers she pulled the ice to craft her specter, and from the first cloud crafted her train. Finally, she crafted from a single block of ice a throne to cast her spell. Once completed the ground became ice, snow fell from the heavens blocking the sun, and the winds cut to everyone’s bone. Many of the elves tried to stop her but her magic was too strong and soon the entire woods became covered in snow and ice. Elrin had a dark shadow cast on his heart seeing what his sister had done out of the love. He set out to gather the only items capable of stoping his sister’s magic. He traveled to the sky to catch a ray of the sun, capture the heart of a fire, and pluck the scales of a red dragon. With his weapon of the sun, amulet of the fire, and the crimson armor of Thrandrogoth the red he was able to overcome the ice and snow of his sister. He confronted her and slew her on her throne. His sword thawed her heart but she could not pull herself from her throne. The ice and snow receded but her desire to overcome death kept her alive. Her brother stayed and sang from his heart the lover of their parents and that death was not the end. She finally closed her eyes and went to sleep but Elrin was gravely injured from fighting her and succumbed to his wounds. To this day she still slumbers within her frozen realm, the royal line ended, and the elves avoid the Frozen woods. Half-elves are seen as distrustful and not to be trusted for from their birth nothing but misfortune has come to the elves.
