Scale Guard

This is the elite guard that protects the Kind and Queen of Timara and are chosen from the most skilled and most loyal soliders of the empire. 
The guard takes its members from the Dragoons, the Military, and the Chroma Arcanum and one can only join by reccommendation. Often this recommendation comes from trusted members in the military and even the Dragon Generals themselves. Often by showing incredible bravery and loyalty on the field of battle will catch the eye of a superior which they will then present it to the King and Queen for their consideration. 
The Scale Guard accompanies the King and Queen throughout the royal city, in their journey across the empire, and never leave their side unless dismissed by the king and Queen themselves. They do not wear the standard colors of the other dragon flights but instead wear a mixture of all the colors of all the dragon flights in their uniforms to show they owe loyalty to the king and queen alone and not to any one region. 
The Scale Guard are responsible for sweeping for charms, assassians and securing the traveling route of the king and queen of the empire to ensure that no harm will come to them. There have been a number of close calls that have been made over the many years of the empire but the Scale Guard has never failed in its duty to protect the royal family. Each member has been prepared to give their life in the service of the family and time and time again have done so without question. 
Not even the Generals or any other noble has power over the Scale Guard and they will only answer to the Royal Family. While having no standing themselves they often do not need to show the same respect to nobles or the generals like they did when they were common soliders. Often their presence is seen as an extension of the King himself and so they will bow to no one for no one else is higher.
