Entwining Sea

Geography

This geographical hub connects the "Eastern" Ocean and the "Western Ocean" is formed bordered by the Continent of Torath to the north and west and by the Continent of Theados on the South and East forming a bowl shape formation. Due to the unique effects of the currents that enter and exit and the sea being located at the equator of the world allows for unique biomes of islands. The most telling geographic signs that one is entering this area are mountain pillars called The Gates. The northern portion of The Entwining Sea is known for its temperate climates, the central region has tropical climates, and the southern region has colder to artic climate despite its close proximity to the equator.

History

This region has a complex deep history for since the dawn of sailing expeditions it has seen strife and riches. Due to how the currents work those traveling from the west travel up the southern edge of the continent of Torath. There are many natural harbors that are found that led to many city-states being founded to service the trade and expedition ships that made their way through the region. Over time the surrounding countryside was transformed to serve the cities and the many foreign ships that were making their journeys. Several empires that have risen throughout the area with the most recent one being the Reman Empire that ruled from 200-800 with the remnants of their empire surviving as Justienna one of the seven major states that vary for control. The other six states are the Republic of Kyros, The Federation of States of Babados, The Elvish Monarchy of Sylvanos, The Kingdom of Garroth,The Kingdom of Entarth, and the Kingdom of Kyele. They are accompanied by the city-states of Galatia, Thessalonia, Ninevah, and Tar-shish. They are several other independent factions and countless cultures that inhibit the countless islands found all across the Entwining Sea.
