Session 6: The Die-Wizard Tournament (3)

General Summary

10 - We're All Mad Here / To be Powerful (1)

  -Ezre talks to PvPizzard and gets him to monologue. He wants to figure out who the strongest wizard here and take their power   -She challenges him to a duel. He refuses, however, the glowing orb, The Eye of Argon, is interested in seeing them fight   -They are both teleported inside the Eye of Argon, to where the PCs fought in the first ever session of Dungeons and Dunces and fight for a few rounds, ending in Ezre getting caught in an Irresistible Dance before we cut to the rest of the party    

11- Fan Fiction Frenzy

  -The rest are inside the building, being chased by Summer guards   -Sieg summons his horse to run interference.   -Liam stays invisible.   -Blue and Del pursue...alternate escape routes.   -Circe murders a bunch of people with a fireball   -Del gets attacked and goes down   -One of the Summers cuases a bunch of icicles to fall on us. Noma gets super impaled. Liam goes to see if she's alive but she is not. Then he hears a voice saying, "Well shit."   -Del is down. Sieg saves her, but more guards are going to attack when Ballistae Naido comes and saves them. She agrees to work with them   -Liam learns that Noma was an Unseen Servant her who serve the library for 40,000 years, and it was just her body that died   -We run. Come to an elevator. Going down to the original library  

12 - Manifest

  -We will need to change the book of whatever is causing this   -The Manifestation Chamber is down there, past the magma where dangerous tomes and objects are stored. We go to a room with magic circles that give us temporary fire resistance   -We go through into the volcano chamber. Inside is a weird smoke and light being with a blue journal pulsing with red light   -Noma is concerned. The being is called the Astral Menace. The book is the journal of someone who was trapped for 40,000 years   -We sneak around the sides of the chamber, except Del who goes right up to the Menace and Blue who goes to attack it   -The Menace opens its eyes and attacks them, then the book goes into the Manifestation Chamber, which seems to activate   -Some of us attack the Menace on our way, but we all go into the room   -Noma brings us to The Plane of Thought. She reveals that the journal is HER journal before she became a real girl. She wanted to be real, powerful, and free. We have to change these three tenants   -TO BE REAL: I will achieve the wonders and woes of being a material individual, and will finally be absolute   -TO BE POWERFUL: Knowledge is power. Power is agency. I will conduct the capabilities of the arcanists of these tomes, and will become unstoppable   -TO BE FREE: I will shatter the cage that jails me, sever the breaths of those who dare to command me, and make my mark on that world    

13 - To be Powerful (2)

  -Ezre is still stuck in the dance   -A voice offers her power. She accepts and starts to murderize    

14 - To be Real (1)

  We go to Liam and Blue, who are trying to convince the Noma from the journal not to become real and stuff   -They are in a weird dream, a library, running around after a young Noma. This Noma wants to find her way into the material plane. Liam and Blue are trying to convince her that it sucks. The Astral Menace is there, posing as a librarian who is manipulating Noma to find her way out. If she gets to the final floor and is able to open the door, this Noma will become manifest    

15- To be Free (1)

  -Circe, Del, and Sieg, and Ballistae fight the giant blizzard wolf that is making its way to the edge of Evik to try escape and take revenge on the citizens/military   -Sieg makes some dope one liners  

16- To be Real (2)

  -As they go up the floors in the library, time passes and Noma gets further along towards finding out how to get to the material plane. She has doubts though, and is suspicious of the Librarian/Astral Menace. Liam and Blue convince her to work with them    

17- To be Powerful (3)

  -Ezre defeats PvPizzard uisng the power of the eye of Argon   -She rewrites to To be Powerful as TO BE CONFIDENT: Confidence without arrogance is freedom. Freedom from the paralysis of fear that plagues me as I live out my life here. Freedom from the uncertainty of what could be. I want things I don't understand. Perhaps if I understand myself first, things will change.   -Ezre has visions: several small cuts. She sees violent energy shattering the titans in the North of Mendor, crevasses tearing apart the ice near Snelfland, a banquet in Yanvar, where everyone has crumpled to the ground, demons and devils breaking out of the Hollowgrasp, Akseli, Goddess of Trickery powerless and chained in a blank space, warring between fiends and celestials, and finally, the smug face of the aspect of Bashira and the presumed thief of the Akseli: Aldos of the Passing Wind   -Ezre is teleported out of the Eye of Argon, and heads over to the broken barrier to aid in this fight  

18 - To be Free (2)

  -The wolf elemental breaks the barrier and it and the Astral Dreadnoughts attack the military and make their way towards the island where the refugees are staying    

19- To be Real (3)

  -When they get to the final floor, they, with Noma, fight the Astral Menace, convincing Noma to use this dream-environment to her advantage. Together, they defeat the Astral Menace   -They rewrite To be Free as TO BE ETERNAL: I will create wonders and beauty the universe has never seen in the eternal world of my mind  

20 - To be Real (3)

  -Circe, Del, Sieg, Ballistae, and Ezre fight the wolf elemental and the astral dreadnoughts. They help the military and refugees and kill the elemental, absorbing its power in his sword   -They rewrite To be Free as TO BE ACCEPTED: I will support thos who will stand by me, and work for the betterment of the world    

21- Denouement

  -After defeating and rewriting all three tenants, we return to the Manifestation Chamber in our plane   -There are two books on the floor: Noma's journal, and one decorated with writing that appears to be made of constellations: the Astral Menace's   -Noma picks up her book   -Liam picks up the Astral Menace's book and is stunned. He sees a vision of a purple light travelling through space, harried by blue lights that pursue it. It lands on the ocean of a familiar planet. This is Ess: the root of all Madness, and creator of the Seeds of Destruction (for more info, see Ess, the Seeds of Corruption, and the Madness )   -Ezre writes down "What is madness and how do I get rid of it?" in her book of secrets   -Del has a final moment with the manifestation of her mother. Balliestae is proud of her   -Del learns from Noma that her parents were apparently sentenced to death years ago (for more info, see The Execution of Ballistae Naido and Orsik Hallows )

Rewards Granted

18,000 gold (3000 per player)   Sentinel Shield - Advantage on Perception and initiative checks   Belt of Dwarvenkind (Attunement) - +2 to con, resistance to poison damage and advantage on saving throws against poison, darkvision 60ft, speak read and write Dwarvish, advantage on Charisma checks to interact with Dwarves. Also you may grow a beard.   Boots of Levitation (attunement) - Cast levitate at will   Deck of Illusions (33 cards) - Draw a card, throw it, and basically a life sized hologram will come from it and you can make it move a bit. The list of cards has stuff like, Beholder, Frost Giant, Incubus...and I'll probably add some things too.   Figurine of Wonderous Power, Onyx Dog - Can be used once every seven days. Turns into a mastiff for six hours. It has darkvision and can see invisible creatures within 60 feet. Can also speak common   Fey Slayer (Attunement, any weapon): +1 to attack and damage rolls, and an extra 3d6 whenever you hit a Fey or Celestial with it (it's basically the Dragon Slayer but we don't have a ton of dragons)   Manual of Bodily Health - Spend 48 hours over six days reading this and gain a permanent +2 to Constitution. Book then goes inert for 100 years   Potion of Fire Breath   Potion of Resistance - Cold   Potion of Resistance - Psychic   Weapon of Wounding (attunement) - Basically, once a turn, you can give someone you hit a wound. For each wound they have, they take 1d4 damage at the start of their turn, unless they can Con Save and get away the wounds. But also, damage done by this cannot be regained via magical means.
