The Metal Mines

The Metal Mines   Deep within the center of Telka lie a collection mines that have a collection varies minerals, specifically metals. About every kind of metal can be found here. Hence why Telka is one of the leaders in metal exports and metal craft. The mines, mainly because of its constant use, run deep under the land which make some non-Telkathir worry if there are fugitives, refugees, or worse, ancient powers lying in wait in the unmanned catacombs. The Telkathir respond to these rumors without fear for they know that there people can handle anything thrown their way. The types of metals that are present in the string of mines are copper, silver, gold, tin, iron, nickel, aluminum, thallium, mythril, various gems, titanium, black titanium, lead, platinum, tungsten, malachite, and bismuth. These mines because of the sheer availability of minerals is usually nonstop with activity and because of that there are a number of people who worry about its conservation status. Currently, there are a select few Telkathir who are at the Ellavarian Academy in Islemaria who are being taught by the Sylvanites how to care for their land. Currently the leader of Telka insists that the production of the mines represents no harm but they will sure to keep a close on the progress if somewhere to go wrong.   Since the mines are the center of Telka's main capital there have be a collection of fables spun about this location. Some talk of how the Telkathir where actually born of the mines and then eventually dug their way out onto open land. Others focus on tales to scare children from venturing deep into the mines. Tales of haggard women who eat children or try to steal them from their mothers. Others are creatures that where once Telkathir but became transformed by the decades spent in the caves.
