The Bog Strangler
This carnivorous and massive plant resides in the swamps of Islemaria, usually near the realms of Elene and Yona. The bulb, or the heart of the plant rather, resides in completely waterborne habitat like swamps and ponds for instance. The plant crafts a seemingly thick mesh of vines that fools prey into thinking that it is safe, solid earth. Once a victim thinks that the area is safe to walk on the false floor collapses and the thicker roots of the plant entrap the victim, squeezing all life from the prey before devouring it slowly for this plant seems to like the taste of the freshly dead.
Uses
The Bog Strangler exudes a poison that concentrates in its spiky leaves that surround the base of the bud. But one has to be careful in order to collect this paralytic poison. For not only does the person run the gambit of being paralyzed themselves by the Bog Strangler but there are fish that feed off the waste it produces and in turn protects other creatures from bringing harm to the Bog Strangler.Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Every year it releases spores into the water it resides in and is eaten by the fish that are primarily consumed by the avians that frequent the habitat. The birds eat the fish and thus care the spore to another location that can hopefully another strangler can survive in. If the spore tries to grow in a habitat already claimed by a strangler, the owner of the location will devour the sapling.
Growth Rate & Stages
This plant can take anywhere from 3-6 months depending on how much it has eaten. The Bog Strangler can survive up to 3 years without any kind of food.
