Creeping Veil

AKA The Mourning Dame

The Creeping Veil is a plant that is related to the Bog Strangler that gets its name from the veil like leaves that cover the bulb that ingests its prey. Now, unlike its parent, the Creeping Veil cannot ingest anything bigger than a spider. Also, this plant is more hardy for it can acclimate to mostly any environment, except for ones that are completely devoid of any moisture. The "veil" is green and mimics the overgrowth that is found in swamps, bogs, and forests. Once its prey is on its trap it quickly the cocoons, the meal in the veil and then ingests the meal whole. Once ingested a new veil is quickly grown but instead of the green that it was the former leaf color, it is now almost pure black for now this leaf is nourished by the insect and therefore stronger. This black veil is why some people call it the Mourning Dame but, apart from that, it is also usually harvested for clothing for the Ellavarian people. For when manufactured the material is usually used for robes and such for mages to offer some armor but without sacrificing their immovability in the process.
