The Gilded Compass

The Gilded Compass, otherwise known as The Adventurers guild is made up of hundreds of members across The Sword Coast and beyond. A primarily for profit organisation they have a central base within Elturgard. A fortress created with the funds collected by its members. The heads of the guild are lesser known, preferring to keep their identities a little out of the public eye, they do little more than ensure the guild continues to function, preferring to let each guild master manage their own area. Known for being reliable and strong many famous adventurers have been part of the guild during their time and it has become a fairly wealthy and respected group upon the mainland. They recently branched out into exploration, preferring to go out and find new dangers themselves
One of the many "Guildmasters" is Rin Varis a drow who was once an adventurer himself. Deciding himself to settle down with the majority of his crew he signed up to help create the city of Krakenfall and assist new adventures explore it.

Goals

The true goals of the Gilded Compass is profit and goodwill, they desire more clients so they are capable of spreading their influence and reputation. It typically also draws in groups that want to help the world as with their typically good natured solutions to most problems they are faced with they have become regarded by many as a group of Heroes in comparison to many other typical mercenary groups.
Membership is easy, find your local branch of the guild and request to join, you go on probation for a short while before being allowed to join the guild, gaining access to bigger and bigger quests and rewards over time

Relationships

The gilded compass is respected if somewhat feared by some settlements, Smaller cities typically see the group as Heroes looking to assist them with any problem provided that they have the gold. Some larger cities however are known to see the group as a band of vagabond Misfits and will commonly treat them as such, that is until they need their help

Structure

Public Figure Head - Female, Human - Gloria is the public figurehead of the guild, beautiful and respected across the lands she is the first port of call on all things publicity within the guild
The Tabled - A mysterious group that assist in the primary running of the guild. While not impossible to find or talk to they have taken to keeping themselves hidden from others after a number of attacks and assasination attempts
Guildmasters - Guild members in charge of smaller sects of the compass in new areas:  Rin Varis - A draw with piercing blue eyes, Varis is the battle master of Krakenfall, he is the towns main protector and controls the Mythal that surrounds the town. His morally grey attitude has got him into trouble more then once but his great martial strength has resulted in a great amount of respect placed upon him.
