Orpha was a wealthy noble of the Pickergill family. She married into the Shrive family but within a few years her extended family had grown so extravagant that she had to limit their access to her accounts. They didn't take this well and within a year they had managed to get her committed to the Asylum so that they could raid her wealth.
However even after losing 90% of her wealth, she had enough secreted away that upon her escape from the Asylum she was able to regain some of her status and live a comfortable life.
