This day marks the beginning of an age of order and prosperity, where all men are brought together in the service of their new god."

The Summoning marks the beginning of the current era, and occured in the year 1237 of the previous era.   This event involves the calling of Meridian, God-Ruler of the The Divine Primacy of Arcadia, to the material plane. Previously, Meridian had been held in Mualdur, one of the underworld planes, restrained in place by ancient magics that predate the modern Pantheon of Gods.
