Summer Camp entry: "Great Grey Tower"

Purpose / Function

The original purpose of the World Tower is unknown to the citizens of Ironglint. The tall metallic structure, visible from even the most remote angles of Ironglint, is a mega structure originally created by the ancients, probably in their Golden Age, when they were experimenting all kinds of new and unknown technologies, such as Automatas and flying cities, but just like the both of those, it fell to decay, rendering the real purpose of the tower a mystery.
The tower had a few important purposes in the old world, in fact, inside were found several broken old chambers dedicated to astrology, the study of blood, and even a workshop dedicated to creating the signature masks of the Automas, that were also spotted roaming the tower even after its deactivation.
But the tower seemed to serve also as the heart of their society, as much as it does to the people of Ironglint in the present: in fact, the tower contains whiting one of the greatest discoveries of the Golden Ring, The Vita Generator. A blood powered generator capable or powering every machine in the Empire, when maintained correctly and when enough quantities blood are sacrificed.

Alterations

The Grey Tower has became a symbol of Imperial power ever since its discovery. Machine storage areas were transformed in colourful great banquet halls, every laboratory became a room for the Grey Queen's guests, and every empty wall wall was breached to create the famous balcony gardens, the Queen's gardens, that hovered over the walls of the city, the higher floors were transformed into airship and bird hangars, high speed gear powered lifts were designed, for comfortable travels between very floor of the monumental machine.
But the tower also contains a darker side to it, The Bone Pit, as they call it, where all the empty corpses of those brave enough to sacrifice their will and blood to the Queen and the Empire are left to rot in peace, taken by the Curse of the tower, the cancer whit out a cure that plagues the most powerful nation ever created beside the ancients.
