Cinis (Sin-iss)

(Sort of like this, but the center district is larger w/ the seat of Government and much less green. Sort of makes the pattern look like 8 pizza slices missing the end triangle. )   The Empire was formed by a group of nineteen noble houses that were dissatisfied with how the powerhouses of Alkesh ran things. They decided to take the risk of venturing from the origin up north until the found the Wall. Determining that the region was rich in magic and minerals, they took the risk trying to harvest both to make a sustainable seat of power. The houses finally broke into 8 primary houses ruled by a 9th house.

Due to unknown reasons, around a decade after the establishment of the city, Cinis became plagued with nightmarish creatures on each new moon similar to the defenders of the Wall earning their name the Nightmares. The houses worked together to form a an order of Wardens to deal with the Nighmares just simply known as the Wardens who are controlled by the Imperial House where each of the 8 houses must contribute to their training.       8 Houses  
  1. The Priests of Ire
  2. A prominent house original meant for maintaining the old religion formerly known as the Followers of Old, but found another niche in maintaining the Seven Divines presence in the city.
  3. The Golden District
  4. Bankers and investment management
  5. House of Souls and Shadow
  6. Spies, grave keepers, and less arcane magic (witches and summoners sort of magic).
  7. The Scholars of Alkesh
  8. House for Historians and Arcane magic
  9. The Circle of The Wild
  10. Druids, rangers, and commoners that harvest the wild magic to feed the Empire
  11. House of Ravens
  12. Militant house that prides itself on the survival of the fittest. More typical old age gothic empire but with a roman coliseum way to fame.
  13. The Word Keepers
  14. Lawyers, judges, and ambassadors. Focuses on relations between people and are obligated to be the moral backbone.
  15. The Common
  16. A group that resented the old power trying to claim on the power that wanted their own voice for power. Focuses on the view of the common people holding up the more menial work of Cinis. The Common also control the imprisonment and punishment for those tried by The Word Keepers.
  17. The Imperial House
  18. The seat of power in Cinis. It is ruled by whoever has been voted in as the Emperor/Empress as the time who most relinquish their current house's roles and obligations to pursue the betterment of the Empire. This district is where the Wardens are trained and each house is required to maintain a small manor and region of the 9th district.
    Current Empress: Empress Selanor A descendant from one of the weaker houses that could not establish itself as one of the big eight. She grew up in The Common, but made large plays in the political world to gain the backing of the Ravens, The Wild, The Priests, and the Scholars to become the Empress after Emperor Aladar of The Word Keepers died on a recent excursion to the wall.     Current Politics: Despite the The Common having the current Empress being of their house, has recently seen a rise of murders of their Wardens causing the Imperial House to pull and quarantine the district because the current Nightmare has not been slain.
