Names and Tradition

To Viniktarians, your name is extremely important, as it is one of the first things you "own" when you are given life, besides your body, mind, and Inner Core. Because family is also just as important, the name of a Viniktarian child is often determined by passing down names from each generation, and each family tree. For example, for the xi Eveiliria family, each child was given a middle name from a parent or other relative. Starting with the parents—Ankorra Yatiq Amu xi Eveiliria and Shei Mei Ooilis xi Eveiliria1, the children are all given the surname of "xi Eveiliria". "Xi" translates to "of", while "Eveiliria" is the family name. From here, each child is given their own name, which is usually independent of any past family member; in this case, we have Dielkaire, Slekierv, Daimtiva, Trilia, and Spli. Then, the first middle name is provided by their parents; for example, in Orion's case with Daimtiva Yatiq Mourouu xi Eveiliria, Yatiq was provided by his father (which you can infer originally came from an extended family member due to it being placed as a first middle name in Ankorra's case). Finally, for the second middle name, it is up to the parents on whether or not the name will come from a family member, someone they admire, or is simply given to the child with no external tie. All of the 5 xi Eveiliria brothers had second middle names with no external tie.

Quailaria and Quailarian Influence

The loyalty of the Viniktarian people to their Quailaria and Quailarian bleeds through to how they name their children, as it is fairly common to name offspring after a deceased royal figure. Specifically deceased. It is considered improper and rude to name a child after a Quailaria/Quailarian that is living (this expands over to a Quaila/Quailar, seeing as they will presumably reign in the future), as it is equating a civilian to a royal figure, who are more or less seen as of divine origin. All in all, naming your child after a living Viniktarian monarch is the equivalent of announcing that your child is above the law. The only exclusion to this rule is of those who marry into the monarchy (such as Shei Mei), who are exempt from this rule due to them originally being of civilian origin. In this sense, they are simply lucky that they married into such a divine family.

Female Names

The difference between male and female names is slight, but noticeable (especially to other species, such as Humans). Female names tend to center around the "LuL", "EEai", "dAA", and "eN" sounds. Compared to male names, they are pronounced much more slowly, due to there being—more often than not—more vowels. Ryokou Shikitei commented once on female names:
"They appear to be far more delicate than their male alternatives, which is similar to Earth. However, considering that female Viniktarians have been displayed as the more powerful of the two, I suppose this observation can only be made by someone of my origin. To them [Viniktarians], I'm sure these names are quite harsh and all-around powerful!" -Ryokou Shikitei
.

Examples

Shlula, Eeilulnani, Mayousa, Everei, Vanaada, Meykouska, Lulneida, Yeevera, Wenerwei, Enervaan, Xenoululdaa, Meiou, Nadaa, Trilli, Sheou, Mevedaa, and Enerkouska.

Male Names

When compared to female names, these tend to be very consonant heavy, specifically towards the Viniktarian equivalent of "K" or the "kA"/"kUH" sound. They are pronounced very quickly, to the point that learners of the Viniktarian language often have a hard time with discerning these names the first time they hear them, as they appear smashed together beyong recognition to those foreign/new to the language.

Ankorra, Kakoveiyual, Kkenvorai, Sheistikaaul, Meivoyon, Ekkaun, Shkestokkuol, Daimtiva, Lekkorenvi, Weikkounla, Xeromeivoul, Qunnmaunvol, Kakkotiv, Jekkoaul, Daimouren, Oumaul.

Conjugation

Contrary to other languages, Viniktarian is very simplified when it comes to conjugation, especially when you take into account whether or not a Viniktarian is speaking in past, present, or future tense. Overall, the Viniktarian language does not even exactly conjugate whatsoever. For example, translating "He walks away" into Viniktarian reads as "Ji brongj eeonk", while translating "I walk away" turns into "Io brongj eeonk"—unlike the English variant, the adjective never changes based on the pronoun used, and this is true across the board.   When past, present, or future tense is taken into consideration, the same rule that holds to pronouns is true for these tenses—there is no change. However, the pitch of a Viniktarian's voice will change based on the tense they are speaking in.
  • Past Tense: The speaker will lower their voice pitch, which will descend in tone the longer the sentence continues.
  • Present Tense: The speaker's voice pitch will not change. This does not mean that in this format, Viniktarians are monotone. On the contrary, this just means that they will not intentionally raise or lower their voice octave by octave as the conversation goes on.
  • Future Tense: Completely opposite of past tense, the speaker will raise their voice pitch rather than lower it, but continue in the same format.
In arriving on different planets, meeting different species, and learning their languages, Viniktarians have always found it difficult to loosen up their voice pitch when learning the past/present/future tense rules contained in other languages. When learning Earthen languages, many Viniktarians have found it difficult, but eventually possible, to keep this rule absent from languages such as French and English, and yet present in their native tongue. Conversely, those who attempt to learn Viniktarian who do not have similar rules often find conjugation simple, but voice alteration extremely difficult, as a sort of trade-off.

Geographical Distribution

Viniktarian is the prime language of Viniktaria, as well as the Phena Quadrant (being that Viniktaria lies within this Quadrant, and that it has been conquered by the Viniktarians for the longest expanse of time). It is the secondary language of the following planets: Borkaa, Terrarroria, and Elman.
1in Shei Mei's case, as a Terrarrorian her naming traditions were different. Instead of having two middle names as she appears to, her first name in its entirety is "Shei Mei", not "Shei". This was ultimately ignored when naming their children (for example, Slekierv Mei Durakhhaba xi Eveiliria, and Spli Shei Bonoir xi Eveiliria) for simplicity's sake.

Number System

Since they live in the same reality, the number system on Viniktaria is very similar to Earth. However, because each Viniktarian is educated for upwards of thousands of years, they don't find it easier or simpler to divide, multiply, etc. amounts by 5's, 10's, 20's, 100's, etc. In fact, for most Viniktarians, complicated equations can be computed in seconds. That being said, the Viniktarian language has words for numbers just as Humans do in their many languages. Here is an example of the list from 0-9:
  • 0 - Qwn
  • 1 - Qi
  • 2 - Qo
  • 3 - Qa
  • 4 - Qe
  • 5 - Qou
  • 6 - Qeo
  • 7 - Quv
  • 8 - Quaa
  • 9 - Qun
