Rhonian Language Codex

When building their plan for revolution, the Rhonians began meeting secretly in remote deserts of the planet, disguising their work as a “hunting party” trip. They didn’t just want independence, but they wanted to reclaim elements of their culture lost due to Tolana oppression and a focus on assimilation, language being one of them. In order to build a successful revolution, they had to get their people re-invested and re-connected to their Rhonian culture, most of which had been intentionally scrubbed from their history by the Tolana.     Rhonians had lost their native language hundreds of years before, when Tolana relations were better. Rhonians initially worked collaboratively with the Tolana, but conflicts began to arise over land until they went to their first war, the Tolana coming on top as victorious. They saw Rhonaians as key to their domination of the continent, using them as labor and military sources. They rewarded them heavily for their work, however, recognizing they needed to incentivize them to further assimilate to the Tolana vision of their role on the planet. The Tolana went as far as genetically manipulating the Rhonians, making them bigger for war purposes, and exploiting their Manic mode to new, more dangerous levels.   Recognizing that they had, indeed, created monsters, they began to implement stricter social controls, stripping the Rhonians of a lot of their cultural celebrations, traditions, clothing. Food, etc. This movement, however, achieved the opposite effect, with groups organizing toi preserve and maintain culture. The Rhonian language was long-thought to be lost, but had been secretly preserved through a codex. The Rhonians began teaching the language through the codex, verbally only, then organizing strikes and attacks using language. They also began teaching ancient traditions, making more trips to the desert, and instilling traditional values into he younger generation, all covertly, all using the old language.
