Spell Tomes and Scrolls
Magic is a very unpredictable, so make it predicable they construct a process of bending the magic into each page so that a spell can be cast without error. These books and scrolls are used only for Cycle Magics because the Celestial Magics are very orderly and do not need to a special process to contain them. This does not mean they are required in order to use magic. The books and scrolls take the chance out of magic.
All wizards have a tome of these spells. The tomes must have a theme around them because having to many conflicting process disrupt the casting process. As a result each tome has one theme and three types of spells. The theme could range from "fire" to "sand". The types are combat, defensive, and support/asset. Combat spells usable cause harm to either the user or to a target. Defensive spells can shield or protect the user or target from magic based affects. The Support or Asset spells can vary from theme to theme. This type usually can be the most creative for advance spell constructors.
When a spell is used the page it was on will burn away. This means after a time a wizard will need a new tome which is why magic is rare and expensive.
Scrolls are similar to tomes, but they are a spell that doesn't have to be part of the rules a tome has. They are mostly used to archive and share different spells.

"I have one I carry around from my more potent spells. Otherwise I just use my solar focus, but to be honest I rarely use my book."
