Silver Order Mage

wizard archetype

To Teach and Protect, is the motto of the Silver Order, those who are tasked with running the School of Sorcery and keeping the streets and outskirt of Mag Mell save of any arcane dangers or rogue spellcasters. Some of the Silver Order also teach, but most of them patrol the city where some cases run different kind of missions within Mag Mell and beyond to keep the city safe.

To Teach and Protect: A Silver Order mage wards world form people with untrained arcane powers and tries to subdue or otherwise protect other from doing harm. She cannot choose abjuration or enchantment school as their opposed school. Otherwise she chooses her other opposed arcane schools as normal.
This modifies the use of the arcane school ability.

Spellpool (Su): At 1st level, mages of the Silver Order can call spells from a common source: the Spellpool. New members receive a special ring. The ring is tied to the spell pool and caster with a binding ritual at the time of their initiation. The ring allows access to the Spellpool and works only for its owner. If the ring is lost a new ritual need to take place, at the cost of 100 gold pieces x caster level and takes 4 days to complete. See below for details.
This replaces the arcane bond.
Spellpool: A magical reservoir of spell energy is bound into special rings and stored with the School of Sorcery. Using her ring as a focus, a mage of the Silver Order Mage can “call” spells from this common resource as needed.

Calling a Spell (Sp): Calling a spell from the spellpool works like spontaneous casting of the cleric. The wizard loses one of his prepared spells to cast a spell of the list below of the same spell level or higher. In addition to that she recalls a spell from the spell pool a number of times equal to her caster level, incurring a spellpool debt. The spell she can recall this wat is equal to her highest available spell level or lower. When a caster calls a spell, she takes a standard action to concentrate on her focus (which provokes attacks of opportunity).

Spellpool Debt (Su): Every time a spellcaster recalls a spell, she incurs a debt. She must return an equivalent portion of arcane energies to the Spellpool: a spell she has prepared of a level equal or higher to that of the called spell, or a number of spells whose combined levels equal the level or greater of the called spell. Returning a spell is a full-round action and depletes a prepared spell slot as if the spell had been cast. The debt must be repaid within a number of days equal to the character's class level; otherwise, the mage's access to the Spellpool is automatically suspended. Once the debt is repaid, a suspended caster immediately regains access to the Spellpool—except that failure to pay off a debt within one-year results in a spellcaster's expulsion from the Order. A mage can't run a “positive balance” with the Spellpool, paying off a debt before incurring it.

Mage Bane (Ex): At 5th level a Silver order mage is especially trained in handling people with arcane powers and spellcasting abilities. She gains the bonus feat improved counterspell and can use of spells of the same level as the target spell for counterspelling.
The replaces the bonus feat gained at 5th level.
