Spine of Rhazan
The great mountain range of western Illium. Rhazan is a figure in the legends of the western continent. When Morelia's settlers first arrived, they named it according to their legends.
Geography
Steep mountains riddled with caves and mines run up and down the length of Illium's western coast. Within the mountain range run many streams and rivers stemming from or leading to basin lakes in the mountain valleys.
At several points in the mountain range there are high, icy plateaus. Some adventurers have suggested that a plateau in the north might actually be a dormant volcano.
Fauna & Flora
The primary herbivore of the region are Bradstead Bucks. They are rampant throughout the mountain range, but most prominently seen in the mountain valleys and by the valley lakes. In the higher peaks, some populations of mountain goats thrive, while the slopes of the mountains are dominated by smaller animals such as voles or squirrels.
The region is home to a wide variety of birds. Most interesting and notable is the Rha-hieth, a smaller predatory bird that steals eggs. Adventurers who travel to peaks have seen the great feathers that tell of larger bird species, though none have been recorded up close. Some accounts of Morelian citizens
