Career Progression

A novice is chosen by the spirits at young age. With the onset of puberty a young shaman is befallen by a terrible sickness of the mind. They have to seek a master shaman to cure it and begin their journey. Those who fail to find their path will end insane or dead.

Payment & Reimbursement

Shamans are highly respected by their communities and it is expected for someone to give them food and drink if they require.

Perception

Purpose

A shaman is the healer and the guardian of a community. They are responsible to heal sicknesses of the soul, to guide the souls of the dead and to protect their people from harmfull spirits.
Shamans are asked for guidance and are sometimes respected leaders. Some shamans also go to war to defend their people. The power of a Great Shaman is equal to most Wizards and Sorcerers.

Social Status

The Shamans of the Koiloks act as leaders of their people.
Human shamans however are often solitary and traverse the lands.

Tools

Human shamans always carry a drum and a club with them. Most shamans also wear costumes, most importantly their crown.
Koiloks shamans carry a drum or a staff, but never both. They use their paws to bear the drum instead of club. The costume of a Koiloks shaman only consists of their belt.

Dangers & Hazards

Young Shamans often fall victim to the shaman's sickness, their mind remains open for the spirits to interfere, driving them totally mad and insane, often into suicide.
Even experienced shamans can fall victim to powerfull spirits too. Some spirits choose to possess a shaman and force them to perform evil deeds.
