Arac Lowlands

One of the more temperate places in Illian, the Arac lowlands are home to many who enjoy the sun and rain. Akin to a bedtime story of a perfect place with no war, no poverty, and beautiful landscapes; the Arac Lowlands seem to fit the bill. However, not all is what it seems, perhaps there is a darker reason why no war has been waged on the beautiful landscape?

Geography

The southern portion of the Dorian Highlands. Covered in more forests and less mountainous terrain than it's northern counterpart, it maintains similar rain patterns (albeit a bit drier) and is much more sunny all around. Rolling hills cover the land and large golden fields of wheat and canola providing vibrant yellows to the pale green landscape.

Fauna & Flora

Plants are more common here. Small wooded areas and larger foliaged areas are common. Many types of nuts and trees are grown in the area. The main fauna is what you would expect from a place with wooded areas and plains: Sheep, wolves, owls, bears, owlbears, etc. You know, 'normal' stuff.

Natural Resources

The area is rich with stone mines, iron mines, forestry, and even farming. The Arac Lowlands provides a great area for exporting goods of all sorts. Animal pelts are common luxury exports along with wines from some local wineries. It would be difficult to find something that the lowlands can't export.

Tourism

The Arac Lowlands are a popular spot for tourism. The rolling hills and the sunshine have a particular draw to them. Not only that, but some large churches have been built in the area and many followers wish to visit these sacred sites for burials or to come closer to their god(s).
