The Dire Deep

Formed from the excess radiation runoff from the massive factories in Crestfalls city district 3, the Dire Deep is a large forest of mushrooms and thick fog. No normal human can live there, but certain species make their home there due to the natural protection. One such species is the Spiderlings, whom are said to have formed here after a spider fell into the thick radiation and fused with a human corpse.

Geography

The Dire Deep is made up of massive hanging vines of Ecoless trees which are the only known plant that can survive the intensity of the radiation there. Beyond that, the entirety of the Dire Deep is covered in a three foot layer of pure radiated runoff from the surrounding factories. In parts its glowing such a hot green that it can blind even the Spiderlings who were formed there. In locations such as this you could stick your hand in and return with merely a nub of burning flesh.

Fauna & Flora

The Ecoless tree is the only plant that survives in the intense radiation. Spiderlings have spider farms down there to form of their own kind but even that is a foolhardy process. The radiation is deadly to any living being. Ecoless vines are rich in many materials and have been a staple of Spiderling culture for years. When observed, they seem to have an innate ability to move and react to threats. That being said, in order to harvest them one must cut off the mother Ecoless plant.

Natural Resources

If by some odd chance a person was able to survive the intensity of the radiation, they could surely scavenge some rare tech and secrets from the Spiderlings. But the massive amounts of equipment and magic it would take would truly not be worth it. The Spiderling inter-government does not even stay in the Dire Deep for fear that it would make them seem clandestine.
