Felanthrium

Felanthrium (Or the Dreamer Plant) is a rare plant that only grows under clandestine circumstances. It is said that when a dreamer reaches out with their magic strong enough they can grow and til a Felanthrium within their dreams. Once the dream plant is blooming, the dreamer should then wake up as soon as possible and touch a Piper plant they had been growing. The mana in the dreamer should transfer over and change the Piper's genetic makeup, making it a Felanthrium.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Felanthrium has a strong scent about it originating from its bulbous center. Once inhaled, the flower appears to shrivel for a few minutes before returning to normal. The color of the flower is deep purple with white spots completely covering the petals. The stem is sharp and pointy much like a rose, as a natural predator deterrent. Perhaps it's most striking feature is it's center which some say the longer you look at it, the more twirled it becomes.

Genetics and Reproduction

Felanthrium can only grow via mana-touch to a grown Piper plant. The transformation can happen almost immediately. After that, the Felanthrium goes through two stages of gestation before it dies in a month or so. During this time, a gardener could mate another Felanthrium with it. As the plant is asexual, no signs of male or female need to be looked out for.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Felanthrium does not grow once is takes over the Piper plant. It will remain the same size until its death a month after its transformation.

Ecology and Habitats

Felanthrium can be grown anywhere a Piper can, but because of the strange circumstances leading to their creation, they are hard to come by. It doesn't need much water or light much like the Piper, it does however need a mana-touch from now and then. Especially during one of its two gestation periods to keep it alive.

It does not shed leaves at all during its month of life.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The plant itself does not have any abnormal qualities but the scent it puts out has large amounts of effects. The scent is said to give extremely vivid lucid dreams where the dreamer can not only control the dream, but manipulate it in ways that effect the outside world. It is also deeply linked with ones connection to their mana. If you possess little to no mana, there is a good chance you wont feel a thing sniffing a Felanthrium. Which is why it has become a huge seller in Descendant markets where they can plant and grow the plant without fear of getting effected by it.
