Adamantite
Adamantite is a rarely found mineral used for the creation of bodily modifications and armor. In more recent years it has become the basis of the armor used by the Crestfall police force.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Adamantite has a deep green natural look that shines deeply. It is also typically found in very sharp clusters known for cutting the ones mining it. Because of this its been nicknamed the Cutter.
Physical & Chemical Properties
It is known for its extreme strength and bend-ability. It has a relatively low top heat so that when heated it can be bent and shaped in a manor of different ways. But when it cools, it is near indestructible.
Compounds
Most modern armors, mechanical implants and bots use this as a basis for its armor. It is a well rounded metal with many uses.
Geology & Geography
Adamantite is mostly found in the deep desert under the thick desert sun and sand.
Origin & Source
The adamantite forms in the solid stone from years of specific tectonic movements and extreme desert heat. The sand also plays a part with its large mixtures of micro minerals pressing down the form making it something unique.
Life & Expiration
It is stable and can be kept in room temperature virtually forever.
History & Usage
History
It was the Reptilia who found the first vein of Adamntite in their home country of Gheiss. It was found in the desert of Sol le Varr near an ancient city.
Discovery
It was first discovered in an estimated 1055 by a Reptilian merchant. It's said to have made him a fortune when he began using it for smith-ing.
Everyday use
It is used for armor and implants mostly now.
Cultural Significance and Usage
It is highly regarded in Gheiss as many Reptilia belive it to be a big part of their victory over the Ixoli many years ago.
Industrial Use
It is a main ingredient in most modern alloys to create armors.
Refinement
The material has to be heated to over 375 degrees Fahrenheit for it to be usable for the most part. Once it's cooled from that state of molding it is incredibly resilient.
Environmental Impact
The metal has a small environmental impact being extracted from the ground simply from the smog and pollution created in the process.
Distribution
Trade & Market
Many major corporations have their hand on at least a decent stockpile of Adamantite. It is sold most places on Ilea by industrial dealers. Very few times is it sold to anyone besides corporations.
Storage
The material can be stored in room temperatures.
