Islander (Bygone Isles)

Humans of the Bygone Isles.
Humans arrived around 1800-2000 years ago in the northeast of the continent, where Lefryn is now. Over the following few hundred years they travelled south and found their way to the Bygone Isles. Along the way they picked up myths and legends from dwarves, elves or halflings (all of which have a history of both inland and coastal living).
Technology and customs at this time were typical of middle antiquity. Isolated on the Bygone Isles, the peoples spread over the islands and developed a number of strong superstitions, whilst technology stayed mostly basic, except in the construction of ships and watercraft.
The Islands of the archipelago have a variety of superstitions and beliefs of the natural world and how the islands came to be. These can be seen in Myths & Legends below.

Common Dress code

Warriors wear a braid of knotted rope around their chest to signify their prowess in arms.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Bodies must be burnt so that the soul can be cleansed and released to the gods.

Common Myths and Legends

The people of Bygone Isles" href="/w/ilarium-Hardiman12/a/motu-article">Motu came ot believe the islands were created by a legendary giant called Neskull. This is corroborated or disregarded depending on the island in question.
