"In the Material Plane there is no worse place to be. The people who live near it are either insane or unlucky. The Pit, the Feywild, the Shadowfell and the Elemental Planes bleed into this place. It is impossible to get rid of it and the only line of defense between it and us is a barrier that has lasted a thousand years. Let's pray it lasts another thousand".

Geography

No mortal has stepped back into this place since The War of the Eternal Scar. As such the only thing that can be seen is an endless desert, ripe with beasts and monstrosities of all kinds. With tears open in the fabric of space, spewing out shades, hags and other aberrations into this prison.
It is closed off by a gargantuan barrier that keeps anything from entering or exiting. This barrier rises up into the sky completely and goes underneath the earth, making it completely unreachable. Around the seaside the barrier closes off access to the sea as well. As such, not a single drop of water has touched this place over the last millennium.
The Barrier is maintained by a number of Magic Towers that generate it. For these towers to keep doing their job they need an extremely high amount of power, which can only be granted by individuals of extraordinary strength. These individuals are known as "Wardens".

Natural Resources

It is the only place in the Material Plane where a certain Ore can be found. This Ore is refined to make Hellreaver Steel. The only other place where this resource can be found is in Tartarus. As such it is extraordinarily rare.
