The Unfinished Adventure

Come all, come far! Can you find me? Can you get me?

We are looking for a young and brave lad or crew to help our kingdom fight a terrible foe! It has terrorized our land for many decades, and still no one has managed to defeat this beast. We are unsure of what it truly is, we have reports that it resembles a dragon, but also has feathers. All we can tell you is this is not a journey for the faint of heart, but the one who completes it will be rewarded handsomely.

Many have attempted to fight this unknown foe, and many have gone down as heros in history for doing so. But still, none have succeeded. This advertisement has been posted on the noticeboards of towns far and wide for decades, constantly hailing the young and the brave eager to please their family and sometimes a romantic interest. Some have started to believe this ad to be a ploy made by a ruler just trying to capture the bravest and strongest of the surrounding land to use in their own armies.

The closest anyone has come was one lad about 15 years ago. While most don't survive the encounter, he managed to make it to the nearest town and report back before dying from a fatal wound. Living in the ravine of two mountains, it is extremely difficult to get to its home, limiting to a single entry point due to the geographic conditions.
