Zinva is a neurological disease that affects cognition; a dragon's memory, and the ability to interpret the world around them. The species affected by this condition are the Dragons, but it is similar to Outro which affects Elves and Orcs.
The brains of those dragons who aqcuire this condition will start to deteriorate when they become older. When this happens to an Ancient their magic has to be removed from them because otherwise, they might change reality. Dragons live long and healthy lives, however, as many as 23% of all dragons above the age of 80 might be affected by the condition. There are no specific studies made on all dragons of Idyll but this procentege of dragons affected in Zarinth.

CAUSE

The cause is unknown, however, a doctor from earth has been accidentally summoned and he has taken up the task to figure out if it is related to the human condition known as Alzheimer's disease. Many of the dragon healers look at him sideways. What could a human know of healing?

SYMPTOMS

Early symptoms may include:

Personality changes

Repeating words or entire sentences

Bad memory

Poor motor skills

Nightmares

Tremors

Later symptoms may include:

Hallucinations

Stiff muscles

Problems sitting straight

Inability to dress themselves

Can not shapeshift

Will not be able to recall what they did minutes ago

Trouble speaking

TREATMENT

There are herbal remedies to relieve a couple of the symptoms and the healer dragons can help with some of the symptoms but the condition can not be treated.

CULTURAL RECEPTION

Many dragons fear this disease and some even fear the old dragons that have it. They know that the disease is not contagious but they do not want to look at what they might become in the future. Some dragons think that all Zineva patients should be locked up in Almshouse and not be let out.
