Cephid Station

The largest space station of the known worlds besides only Station One. When the Allenzin Federation first joined the space race on Bedoke, their mission statement was to protect the Federation across worlds. The colony failed a few years later. Regardless of the reasons for this fall, it caused the Allenzin to disregard their space technology for many years while their competitors across the continent and sea strove to complete a usable Chreneb drive. When Colony One was founded by the Astrean Empire and other governments, the Allenzin Federation was in a time of relative economic failure, and had a huge inequality gap. Several of the extreme rich had been funding ftl tourism for years, and had the makings of an infrastructure to facilitate a colonial system. The Allenzin government, afraid of being left behind technologically and politically in the greatly broadened frontiers, began to make plans to colonize a relatively habitable planet in orbit around the star Cephid. To begin the settlement, it is generally imperative in colonial doctrine to establish a port into and out of the system, and due to the limitations of the Chreneb drive, the high orbit of the planet is a good choice. Thus, the first ship to arrive in the Cephid system from the Allenzin was a space constructed freighter which was almost more parts station than ship, and served as the backbone to the creation of what would then be known as Cephid station.     These days, Cephid station stands as a landmark of how stations have evolved over the 70 years since it was built. It also holds the greatest quantity of iridium and osmium mining in the known worlds, and single handedly drove Cephid to be one of the highest income planets. After Cephid declared its independence from the Allenzin confederacy, the station remained under duel jurisdiction due to some rather messy treaties, and remains that way due to the insane amount of money involved in the Cephid system as a whole.

Demographics

Living on station is fairly unaffordable to most, but there are some sections that afford low to middle class workers who service the station. Generally has a high cost of living which forces many down to the asteroid mining stations or down to the planet itself.

Government

Has a governor voted into power by a committee comprised of officials appointed by both the Cephid and Allenzin governments. They oversee the station most similar to a colonial government where most decisions are made by the local authority, but most official state business is handled either by Cephid or Allenzin.

Defences

In terms of real defenses against a space faring fleet, Cephid Station is as good as a duck in space. It has several things here and there to protect against pirates, but most of its defenses comes from the Cephid fleet stationed just nearby in slightly lower orbit at the shipyards. Antipersonnel weapons are much more sophisticated, in the form of automated turrets, a ready riot force/swat team, blast doors can shield parts of the station in cases of biochemical warfare, hull breaches or terrorism attacks.

Industry & Trade

The entirety of trade with the Cephid system stops through here, providing much of the wealth for those on the station. The other industries on station include Platinum group metal processing, namely Iridium and Osmium for their use in Chreneb drives.   Major imports: Food, ice, consumer goods Major exports: iridium, osmium, ships

Infrastructure

Systems to provide the station with recycled water and air. Managed by the Trinity Corporation of Allenzin origin.

Assets

The largest stash of iridium this side of the colonies.

Guilds and Factions

Trinity Corporation, Allenzin Federation, Independent Cephidian Systems.

Architecture

Semimodern efficiency focused architecture mixed with postmodern elements in later construction.
