One Hundred Years' War
The war between the Icarian imperium and the unified remnants of the old world has been wagged for a last century.
Both sides are caught in ever-lasting stalemate, for neither of the sides cannot gain any great success in terms of foothold.
That makes the war perpetual starvation and position warfare, without self-conclusion at sight for either side.
The Conflict
Prelude
With the end of the Unification, elements of civilian and military forces from all five continental nation-states escaped to islands all across the globe, where they in relatively short time managed to unite themselves under both military and civilian leadership and government, and subsequently as one unified front they declared state of continued war upon the usurper realm of the Icarian Imperium.
Battlefield
The home-islands all across the globe became battlefields between the Icarian Imperium
and the remnants of the old world, who after unified themselves began to call themselves the Icarian Freedom Confederation.
Conditions
Because of the ever-lasting battles over the surfaces of the islands, its inhabitants moved to live underground in massive city-like bunkers, while the surface of almost every and all islands became infested with biological, chemical and nuclear agents as the Imperial forces were using weapons of mass destruction in order to exterminate the forces of Confederation.
The condition on the surface of isles are inhabitable for long amount of time because of the amount of toxic agents present in the soil, water sources and air of the surface. For that reason, the soldiers when deployed upon the surface are to rotate regularly in order to prevent them dying due to exposure to biological hazards.
