Dragons

In Ianua, there are two main categories of dragons: they are either gentle giants, the perfect adventurer's companion, or fearsome beasts, the bane of every adventurer's existence.

Before the Collapse, the White Wings would capture wild dragons and force them to fight alongside them in wars. Many of the wild dragons perished this way, and there are very few left today. The ones that do still exist travel in packs, and tend to keep to themselves, staying high up in the mountains or on remote islands off the coast.

The gentler dragons however, are a prominent fixture in the landscape of Ianua. Traveling through the desert, you may see long golden-scaled dragons floating effortlessly through the sky; or traveling through the ancient forests, the deep emerald-green tree dragons snoring relaxedly in the branches of the redwoods.

The gentle dragons are not as intelligent as their wilder counterparts, and as such will act more so on animal instinct than they do orders from their companion. But do not be misled, you are as much their pet as they are yours.

The wild dragons are highly cunning creatures. Traveing to one of the "dragon islands" off the coast of Ianua where some groups of wild dragons have made their home, you may find settlements not dissimilar to ours. But be warned to stay away from these islands no matter how fascinating the prospect of dragon cities may seem, as people are decidedly unwelcome there.

Breath Weapon

All dragons have an elemental breath weapon depending on the color of their scales, which can appear in a straight line, such as the blue dragon's lightning bolt, in a cone, like the red dragon's cone of fire, or in a cloud, as with the green dragon's cloud of poison.

Fire: Magical fire is used by gold dragons, brass dragons and red dragons.

Electricity: Lightning is exhaled by blue dragons and bronze dragons.

Acid: The black and copper dragon exhale a powerful acid.

Poison: The green and violet dragon's breath weapon is a cloud of chlorine gas.

Cold: The white and silver dragons releases a cone of sub zero air and ice.
