Laenerin Leads On

The party went on through the forest, and came to a great lake. At the center stood a great marble pillar, ringed in smaller stones. Amid this ring lay the boy Fanuiel, as if in a slumber. "There once was an island here", intoned Laenerin, "it's the only place in the forest to escape my vision. The heart of the corruption." Mortarion killed the boy, "he's a witch!" he said. They were stunned with a psionic blast, and the creature emerged from the depths and grabbed him. It bit down through his skull, slurping out the grey matter within. And so Mortarion was dead.
