Volgigrod
Capital of The Vulgar Empire, Volgograd is the seat of the Tusked Throne and the City in the Valley. With superb natural defenses from every direction bar the south, the Vulgar capital has access to good farmland as well as silver and gold from the mountains, and streams too for fresh water. The great blue towers stand out like candles even from many miles away in this land.
Demographics
Almost entirely human, the population is aggressively anti-Vrain due to the aforementioned Black Scourge, and few centaurs are present here, as the Empire’s centaur population is mainly limited to the Denus valley. The Velykoroj and his family rule the empire as a whole but the city itself tends to fall to the magisters, who manage the day to day operations.
Government
Absolute monarchy, with the Emperor or Velykoroj being the central authority figure, often assisted by a council personally appointed by him. They may be princes from the provinces appointed to higher positions, or they may be lowborn which have been considered worthy by the emperor of council.
Defences
As well as the mountains, several forts surround the city to its south, offering a strong protection against invasion or rebellion. Only once has the city fallen to an invading force, and that was in a civil war known as the Flight of the Doves.
