Razz

Razz is a slang term for the high achieved upon ingesting the seed of the Marioss flower, or "Makka."

Symptoms

Doing makka numbs the nerve receptors in the brain and causes the entire body to lose any sense of feeling. It also causes the brain to uncontrollably release dopamine and melatonin. Once razzed, users will feel immense pleasure, causing the entire body to feel a sort of tingling sensation. This feeling is so strong that some are unable to even walk while experiencing it. It also numbs the sense of touch, so anyone razzed will be unable to feel anything but the tingling. This can lead to trouble, as a user can be severely injured and not notice until the high wears off. The release of melatonin also causes the user to feel very tired, but they are unable to sleep. The length of the high varies wildly, and can last for a couple of hours to a couple of days.

Affected Groups

For unknown reasons, makka only effects warm blooded species. Most of the people seriously effected are lower income citizens of major cities, although some people in more rural regions of the galaxy are effected as well. Many of the societal elite have been known to get razzed, although this is supposed to be kept under wraps.

Cultural Reception

Being razzed is typically frowned upon by the majority of people in the galaxy, although it is more common than many realize. Governments and megacorps throughout the galaxy highly discourage and punish it, although many members of these groups get razzed as well.
