Scorpion Lobster
Them's good eatin', but bring a big hammer, and keep your eye on both claws, them lobsters is tricky. The Scorpion Lobster thrives in warm water at a modest depth, between 50-100 meters. Giants (and other sea life) find them delicious, but they are quite capable of protecting themselves. A full dose of venom from a scorpion lobster tail will numb the affected limb for hours, and can be dangerous or even fatal if the giant is struck near the heart or in the head. Smaller creatures stung by a scorpion lobster will die quickly if not immediately treated. These lobsters are brightly colored in the wild, blue, pink, red, and green shades swirled and striped together. The smaller males have distinctive pink and orange spots on their heads, while the females maintain the same patterns all over. The coloring allows the the lobsters to blend in with the Sphere Coral beds in which they live. When cooked, the colors become brighter and more intense - scorpion lobster shell is used for many decorative crafts among the coastal tribes. Adult lobsters reach 1.5 - 2 meters in length, including claws.
