Winter's Depth

On the day of the longest night during winter people all over Huldath will gather in the oldest member of their family's house. They exchange function gifts, knives, axes, fur boots, coats, and other functional items. Often times this is an occasion when young girls and boys will receive their first knife as a right of passage.    The Tradition started as a way of staving off the darkness of nights and sharing a feast together. Many of the people north of the breach do this by inviting dwarven friends into their own homes.    Winter's Depth is observed by most surface-dwelling races who live within settlements. It is even observed by sailors and miners alike who have come from a background of doing the tradition when they are younger.
