Krendar Peak (Kren-darr Peek)

Demographics

A majority of the population is made up of Preternaturalists, a catch-all term for those who practice magic. They use Krendar Peak as a refuge to hide away from the AIs' attempts to wipe them out. There is also a large population of magical faunas like unicorns and pixies.   In the minority of the population, there are a group of magic-less humans who took refuge in Krendar Peak as they did not want to be ruled by the AIs but rejected the tribal life of the Tribes. They were allowed to live there by the Seven Dragon Emissary and the United Circle of Preternaturalists (though some members disagree). The magic-less who lived in Krendar Peak are on good terms with most of the Preternaturalist though some extreme Pretenaturalist wishes to drive the magic-less out. The magic-less in Krendar Peak are also restricted from going into some areas. A catch-all term for those who live in Krendar Peak with magic or magic-less is Krendarians.

Government

Krendar Peak is largely non-rule enforced with the Seven Dragon Emissary and the United Circle of Fourteen High Preternaturalists only giving out orders in the most important times. Due to their shared fear of being destroyed by the AIs, the Krendarians are very communal are largely avoid large disputes with each other.

Defences

Due to the mountain range of the region, the mountains are too hazardous for ordinary humans to enter. The Krendarians avoid attention so few know of a settlement hidden in the mountain range. There are also griffins searching for any trespassers. Occasionally, a mage will be sent to conduct a full search over the peaks near the Habitable Range (the mountains outside of the Habitable Range are too dangerous for anyone to go).

Industry & Trade

Due to privacy, Krendar Peak does not allow merchants to enter. It's also far too dangerous for merchants to try to enter the mountains. As such, groups of magical Krendarians disguised as normal humans or magic-less Krendarians will be sent down to other cities to purchase items. All the members sent down have to go through a loyalty test to determine if they are willing to take the secret of a settlement in Krendar Peak to their grave.

Infrastructure

In the areas where the magic-less Krendarians live, the infrastructure is largely villages. For where the magical Krendarians live, they live in the vast forests or in the city of Tlaw's Kith where the Seven Dragon Emissary and the United Circle of Fourteen High Preternaturalists reside in. Inside Tlaw's Kith, there is a massive forest known as Gliverdel where hammocks constructed of leaves create bedding for the magical Krendarians to sleep in.

Districts

The larger district is the Habitable Range where all the Krendarians live. The regions outside of the Habitable range are uninhabitable due to the harsh weather. The place where the magic-less Krendarians live is known as the Standard Region. The place where the magical Krendarians live is the Special Region.   There are the forests where many of the Krendarians live. There is also a circus where a magical entertainment show is performed known as the Aircus which all Krendarians can watch. There is Tlaw's Kith, a massive city where the magical Krendarians live. Half of the city is villages and housing known as the Village Side and the other half is a massive forest known as Gliverdel.    Gliverdel is a massive interconnected settlement built on a forest with many wooden branches carved into bridges connecting to each of the trees. There are also leaf hammocks which are beddings for the inhabitants to sleep in. Magic-less Krendarians are forbidden to enter Tlaw's Kith.

History

After the AIs began a massive purge of anything magical known as the Deterge, many magical creatures and Preternaturalist fled from the cities and forests and climbed up large mountains eventually reaching Krendar Peak, a large region of area hidden in the center of the mountain range. There they built settlements.   Eventually, with time, a group of magic-less humans climbed up the peaks. They told the mages who came down to investigate they came in peace. There was a large discussion of whether or not to let the magic-less humans in or chase them out. A few of the Peeternaturalists and the dragons wanted to obliterate them on the spot. Eventually, it was decided to let the humans stay. They set up villages and farms becoming the magic-less Krendarians.

Points of interest

Main Points of Interest:   Watch Peaks:   The Watch Peaks are a series of three mountains (South Watch Peak, East Watch Peak, West Watch Peak) taller than the others. They serve as watch towers where the Krendarians spy on all the other mountains. Griffin hatcheries are on the Watch Peaks. They were originally a North Watch Peak.   Fossountain:   The Fossountain, formerly called North Watch Peak, has been poisoned by Visel, a poisonous substance used in factories. The Fossountain is a grim reminder of the danger the Preternaturalist face. It became poisoned during the Battle for the Fossountain, a bloody battle when several cyborg soldiers from Vrekas invaded Krendar Peak. All of the Preternaturalist soldiers occupying the North Watch Peak were killed and the Vrekas soldier would have advanced if not for a trap set by the Krendarians causing a landmine to explode killing the remaining soldiers. Due to the heavy Visel-powered machinery, the Visel leaked out after the explosion poisoning the mountain. The fauna and flora died off or became mutated or disfigured. the Preternatualist views these mutated creatures as an example of the horrors of Visel. The Fossountain landscape is a swamp of leaked Visel fuel. It is frequently covered in carrion and charred plant.   Tlhon's Cabin   Thlon's Cabin is a cabin residing on the side of the mountains near the villagers. Thlon is an old hermit who moved out of the village and embrace nature. Thlon is a magic-less Krendarian woodcutter who cuts trees and sells the logs to the villages nearby. Thlon is usually friendly to both magical and magic-less Krendarians and invites travelers for a cup of tea. However, he can be a formidable foe is angered as he is skilled with the axe. It is advised to not be rude or hostile when interacting with Thlon.
Thlon is one of the most hospital Krendarians out there. I was about to pass out from the cold and die a cold death when Tlon bought me over to the campfire and helped me recover. It was nice chatting with him while sipping cups of hot chocolate. I would recommend anyone to stop by his place whenever trekking through these icy mountains.   ----Ixon, apprentice mage.

Architecture

The standard range is mainly wooden houses. The special range is typically forest other than the magical villages in Tlawkith.

Snowstorms commonly batter the mountains making travel through the mountains difficult for the inexperienced. Beyond the mountain range, in the area surrounded by the mountains, the region is grassland and forests making it easier to live in it.

Climate

The climate is freezing in the mountains. It is cold with common cool breezes in the land region surrounded by the mountains.

Natural Resources

The forests provide wood. There is also plenty of snow to be boiled to make water. There is some metal and other ores that can be mined from the mountains.
