the central empire is the Rhu Lumente ruled over by the Kumkani. the religion of Ziqithi is Unqulo whose central church the Icawa has temples in every city and virtually every island each with their own Ngeleli (priest). There is a secret order growing in the church known as the abaphikisi who seek to reunite with Unkulunkulukazi using the Abantu Abatsha. There are also the Ba Khu Luleko who are a guerilla group that has been trying unsuccessfully to overthrow the Rhu Lumente.

because of the Rhu Lumente the Ngabantu now have a unified language of Ulwimi. though some islands and regions retain their original languages as well, most are slowly becoming incorporated into unique dialects of Ulwimi

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

the celebration of the birthday of the first emperor kumkani wokuqala has become a national holiday, many also celebrate the religious holiday of Yomile when the humans were first banished to land and many spend the holiday praying, swimming or bathing throughout the day. It is also a recognized custom that when meeting someone of higher status than you that you are to perform Isaphetha where one bows deeply with their right forearm pressed against their forehead.

History

The humans of hlabathi don't remember where they came from, their dominate religion says that humans were created by the sea goddess Unkulunkulukazi and were banished from the sea for some unspeakable crime which has been lost. the earliest humans quickly spread amongst the islands of the Ziqithi. there were many kingdoms and empires but their territory ebbed and flowed given the large number of islands. The current empire was created when the kingdom of Enkulu (named after the large island they occupied) discovered how to make superior bronze weapons. They then conquered the many territories on Bahlali which was the second largest and most populated Island which gave them the manpower to go with their superior weapons and resources. one by one each island fell until all were united under the Rhu Lumente. the empire taking up the known world has known peace for generations as any people that sought to rebel were blockaded and starved into submission by the empires superior ship. Though unbeknownst to the populous something has been happening that could change their world forever.

Historical Figures

the first emperor kumkani wokuqala is held as a national hero who united the Ngabantu and brought peace unto the world. there was also the first to revolutionize farming known as Umenzi Wesango.

Common Myths and Legends

according to Unqulo Umntu Wokuqala was the first human created by Unkulunkulukazi. He was also the one who commited the unspeakable crime that got humans banished to land but because the crime was too horrible to mention it's unknown what the crime was though many Ngeleli speculate. there is also the legend of Semzini also known as the Inyoka Umgibeli who supposedly came from a land outside Ziqithi and was able to tame the Inyoka, though the Zi Sidenge that he encountered didn't believe him and drove him off legend says he promised to return one day with more of his people.
