S19.0/JT - The Boy that Wouldn't Wake Up Report

General Summary

The party arrives back in Iwasaki and is approached by Yamami. Mizuki is still hostile towards her, so she and Jugen move to block her from an unconscious Akira. Yamami tries to make it up to them by healing the entire group. The tension is broken when Reiji abruptly arrives and he is briefed of all that has occurred in the past few days. The party then go off to do their own activities.

A few hours later, they go and check on Akira, who still hasn’t woken up. They decide that guards should be posted by him and go to request it to the Jito. Once outside however, they notice that time has stopped for everyone but themselves. They notice Akira's librarian beckoning them and follow her towards Iwasaki. They find a glowing door on one of the houses and opening it led to Akira's library. The party go in and find it in disarray. They then meet the Librarian, who explains that they are in Akira’s mind and that he no longer wants to wake up because of the Kokoraiju. Jugen asks how to wake Akira, and she says that his mind has fragmented into different personalities and each one must be convinced to merge back, otherwise the Kokoraiju will fully take over. She adds that she cannot accompany the party and instead introduces Ser Aurin, a knight of the “Lords’ Alliance.” He leads the party to a door and says that beyond it is an aspect of Akira, that if they manage to convince, could lead the way to all the others. Unfortunately, he cannot leave the library as well. The party go in and find themselves in a carnival. The people around them were not of Hinomoto and looked like they were having a lot of fun. They are confused when asked about Akira, but stop and disconcertingly stare at the party when they uttered the word “Kokoraiju.” The party manage to pass it off as nothing, and the people resume what they were doing.

An equally out-of-place man approached the party and introduced himself as Ryumine Yukio. The party question him how he came to be here and he explains that he can only recall helping Akira escape from Kokuen insurgents, and that he had been here awhile and didn’t know how to leave. He then joins the party in trying to help Akira.

The party are soon drawn to the giant tent at the middle of the carnival, where 2 guards are asking them for tickets. They explain that tickets can be won through various carnival games and so the party separates to play different games.
