The Blackport Reserve

Location and History

The Blackport Reserve is a Military organization that is headquartered in Ardbridge City. They were founded in 299 TAA (Time After Alfred) by the brothers Saroson Volknal and Bashir Volknal. They founded the organization to solve the problem of pirates raiding the docks and wharves of Ardbridge City. As their victories increased, so did their funding from the city officials. Things came to a head when the Zazarat the Pirate King staged a massive assualt on the wharves of Ardbridge City. It was the plan of Zazarat to take the city as a whole, and in doing so, start the first Pirate Kingdom of the known world. Saroson and Bashir led the forces of The Blackport Reserve in defending the city. During the attack, Saroson was wounded by the pirates that had swarmed him. Bashir lept in to aid his brother, defeating the band of pirates, but taking a stray arrow to the chest. Saroson carried his brother's body back to the city while the soliders of the Blackport Reserve surged forward in hopes that the death of Bashir would not be in vain. The day after, the Pirates were defeated, and Zazarat was beheaded. Over the last hundred years, The Blackport Reserve has grown in wealth and number, boasting a large garrison in Ardbridge City, as well as Dawsbury City and Tebuke City. They also have a training facility off the coast of Ibul City.

Leaders Past and Present

The brothers Volknal were succeeded by the Saroson's son, Joktan Volknal. Under Joktan, the organization grew quickly, for he was riding on the exploits of his father and uncle. A Volknal has always been in charge of The Blackport Reserve, and that continues to this day, the year 419 TAA. The current leader of The Blackport Reserve is Katrina Volknal, the granddaughter of Joktan. Under Katrina, The Blackport Reserve added a new outpost in Umay, though it is not quite the garrison that she had hoped for.

Current Goals

-Grow their outpost in Umay.
-Recruit enough members to expand their operation to other provinces.
-Raise a military force to cleanse the pirate haven in the Brukro Islands.
-Outpace their rivals, The Davenridge Garrisons, in total growth.
