The Living Abyss

The Living Abyss is an anomalous event that occurs at irregular intervals. The Living Abyss is manifests as a localised maelstrom with humanoid at its centre enveloped in swirling dark energy. The Living Abyss always originates from Lake Ejule before carving a path of destruction through the city before disappearing. In the most recent event, the maelstrom made its way deep into Erzenstadt, making it the longest and most destructive Living Abyss event in recorded history. Due to these events having occured long before the rise of heroes or villains it has fallen into the realm of myth and legend, the actions of the Living Abyss are attributed to superstition and the desecration of Lake Ejule.
