Darkfall Islands' form of government has been passed down for centuries from Daksu the Destroyer, and has slowly evolved over time. It began as a pure bartering society, and some parts of the island still work under the older ways. But the more modern areas have taken up coins for currency and have adopted the use of public services.
After The Cataclysm, most of the government broke down, and its been difficult to restart political parties and the like due to the apocalypse happening. For now, it is only Daksu who gives out orders to what remains of the people willing to help things recover. There is moderate order, but it is primitive.

Structure

Though it is technically a monarchy under Daksu the Destroyer, there are several smaller roles for representatives underneath him that are reminiscent of democracy. There is preference voting system for representatives. (Further explanation)

Public Agenda

The sole purpose of the islands' government is to provide freedom, justice, safety, health and prosperity for its peoples. This is the belief of Daksu, and has thus been passed down.

Military

Small military presence, mostly functioning as law enforcement. Island relies on the locals to form militias to defend the island if needed

Currency

Coins made of copper and silver with runes engraved upon them. Size between the two metal coins are varied, with copper being the smaller of the two. Runes differentiate worth on both metals.
