Magi Samling
A collection of Mages from all Ardatia, those present in the Shieldlands are those who have immigrated or fled the Wetlands. 9 mages formed the Magi Samling They are found scattered throughout the region, rarely living in the same region as one another but maintaining a Magi Hall hidden in the mountains where they train prospective recruits, of which there are few. These Mages clash with the An Cearcall Druids who deem their use of arcane magic.
The Mages are primarily interested in the advancement of magic and keeping magic at the heart of a nation by advising Kings and Lords. Every since the Cataclysm in Metrus, Arcane magic has been mostly frowned upon within the Shieldlands as they grew to fear what it could do to their region, hence why so few Mages reside or are trained in the Shieldlands. The commonfolk still mistrust mages but most of the rulers value the insight of these Mages and respect the power they wield.
The Magi Samling are currently led by their oldest and most powerful member Lucien Havius, a master of transmuation magic and one of the most powerful mages in the continent. Lucien maintains good contact with the mage schools around the two continents, ensuring they have good contacts throughout the land.
The current inner circle of Mages includes:
Lucien Havius - Leader, master of Transmutation, advisor to the King.
Sabrina Kenton - Mistress of the Magi Hall, she puts all recruits through the tests.
Bron Ivarson - A Dwarf of ancient Shieldite descent. He is one of the few mages who does not use their magic to prolong their own life, he cares not for new recruits and currently works along the Grecian border assisting his countrymen.
Jennifer Artois - A wondrous mage, thought to be too assertive and controlling, she married Jarl Rungnir and resides mostly in his Jarldom.
Djon Ginjison - A brutish mage, built like a warrior and obsessed with the ancient Shieldite ways, has been influencing Jarl Hjalmar.
Kenna of Austrond - A brilliant and beautiful mage, specialising in evocation magic. She enjoys the high life, dining with Jarls and Huskarls and travelling far and wide to other regions.
Keira Fenirsdottr - The youngest of the inner circle but by no mean inexperienced. She has been an advocate for increasing the Magi's influence in the land and has currently been fighting off (politically) the Priests of the Watcher in Tamwallen, who want to eradicate mages.
