Ghakai

The coastal region of Hungola, and the location of the capital of which is also called Ghakai. The region is on Hungolas western coastline which has towering rough and rugged white cliffs and roaring mighty waves which pound the cliffs. Much like the rest of Hungola Ghakai is hilly grasslands where the nomadic peoples roam. There are small settled tribes of blue orcs along the coast of Ghakai where the coastline levels out into rocky beaches. Ghakais capital, Ghakai is built upon a swamp, this Orcs here have learned to live in these swampy conditions over the course of the last 3000 years since the city was founded. The swamp offers brilliant protection from any outside threat as the swamp is a dangerous place filled with dark creatures and can swallow whole battalions who don't watch where they step. Ghakai is a no fly zone, many years ago the Shamans of the area dealt with the giant mosquito problem but making the city itself a no fly zone, any creature the flies into this zone drops to the ground and any creature that attempts to fly in it will find that they can not.

Geography

Ghakai is a land of rolling flatlands and hills. The coasts of Ghakai are rough and towering rugged cliffs that stand 100's of feet above sea level. Where the cliffs flatten out the coast is filled with rocky beaches. The eastern side of the Ghatai region encompasses the forest of Uringar. Ghakai is home to Hungolas largest swampland.

Fauna & Flora

Ghakai's animals do not differ much from the other regions with the same staple creatures in land, bears, wolves, dire wolves and deer. The coastline has an abundance of seals, Orange Eyed Penguins and the Sacred Kingfisher birds. However along the coast line they have some cliff dwelling sea creatures not seen in many other parts of the world, Sea Drakes. They live in the towering white cliffs and only leave the cliffs to hunt or defend their territory.   The Orange Eyed Penguins are native only to the West Hungolan coastline, living among the rocky beaches of the coast they're mating season is in late winter and they lay their eggs in early spring. The mating ritual of the Orange Eyed Penguins involves the Penguins eyes flashing bright different shades of Orange at each other and the ruffling of their feathers as they look for a mate whos eyes light up in Sync with theirs, these penguins once they find a mate will mate for life. They build their nests with shells and rocks they find among the beaches where they lay their eggs, each mating season the Orange Eyed Penguin will lay one egg each.   Giant Mosquitoes live in the the swamp, and used to be a plague upon the city until a group of shamans came together and made the city a no fly zone, so anything that flies within the city limits falls to the ground. This made the mosquitoes much less of a threat now that they can't fly.

Natural Resources

The cliff area for miles around is rich in Chalk, the forests are a good source of birchwood. The blue millipede of the swamps is used to form that ink for Blue Hungolan tattoos making it a very highly sought after resource.
