Great Oak

The Great Oak is the central large supporting tree of the network of the interconnected city of Hardhaven. It contains the majority of the city’s main services, as well as the Chapel of Redemption, home to the Redeemers, the main religion of the once primarily Dverge city. The Jomsvikingr also call the Great Oak their base of operations - though there are many other services within the towering central tree of Hardhaven. It stands as a testament to the city's endurance.

History

The Jomsvikingr headquarters are one of the busiest places in Hardhaven - when the Champions aren’t around. Capable as Svali is, Yngnjl simply can’t compete with her efficiency. Things don’t pile up, but only because the headquarters becomes a hectic flood of activity whenever he is in charge.   A front desk and waiting area - manned by Michard - masks the chaos behind just one doorway. Clerks hurry to and fro through a labyrinth of rooms and hallways, Jomsvikingr stride the halls with cocky smiles painted over grim determination, and through it all rings out Tracker’s strained shouting. His office is just across the hall from Svali’s, not far from the entrance, and as such his voice can often be heard ringing out even by those walking nearby.   The headquarters function is mostly administrative, though there are a few rooms within for training, and more still for storage of things for Jomsvikingr use only. Some fifty odd scribes and clerks are present within the headquarters during peak hours, whereas Jomsvikingr come and go as they please. Many of the clerks within the headquarters don’t identify themselves as Jomsvikingr, and simply help keep things running within the city.   Since the Champions deposed Guðr, the headquarters also serve as a defacto city hall for the city as a whole.
