Architect of Balance

Guðr's eyes widened when he saw Moz. Though he had not stopped writing when I entered, his hand stilled as his gaze fell on my new companion. Moz stared back, his eye uncertain and unrecognizing. Before I could make any introduction, Guðr let out a shaky sigh, along with a muttered.
"By the light of the forge..."
The moment passed, and Guðr composed himself and stood, dropping his quill and squaring his shoulders.
"Architect. It's been some time. Good to see you can finally lift that."
Moz looked to the enormous hammer in his hand for a moment before returning to his gaze to Guðr. After a beat, he said.
"Err, yeah, I don't know what that means."

Known to many simply as the Architect, the history of the realms has been shaped by those who have taken up this mantle for centuries. Practically a mythological figure, the Architect is a curious force in the world, striving always to maintain the balance of the eternal battle between primordial Eldr and Svell. At times, this has lead them to seemingly act against the interest of foundlings, as it is not always easy for them to see the larger picture the Architect is working toward. Despite this, if not for the Architect's actions, the landscape of Miðgarr would have frozen over or been reduced to cinder long ago.

Requirements

Each Architect is a direct reincarnation of the previous Architect. Unfortunately, there is no natural process by which the Architect maintains this cycle. Each new iteration of the Architect is a monument to those that came before, as each one of them had to find their own method of continuing the cycle.
The latest and current Architect, Moz can be considered something of an abnormality. His amnesia is the fault of the an error in the process by which the previous Architect made herself anew. Unless he can somehow regain his memories, the centuries of experience accumulated by the Architects before will be lost.

Duties

It is the utmost and only true duty of the Architect to maintain balance in the realms. Though most creatures in the realms find themselves aligned with either Svell or Eldr, the Architect knows that only through true balance and harmony will the realms of the world tree thrive. Their duty is sacrosanct and comes before all; the lives of the individual mean nothing when weighed against the whole.
Even during the Time of Darkness, the Architect oscillated back and forth in their allegiance until the closing days of the war between the dverge and the ðyrs.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Should the Architect ever fail in their duty to find a method by which they reincarnate themselves, there is no indication the cycle will continue, and the realms may soon fall into disaster without the Architect to shepherd them.
