Bounty Hunter

Those who hunt heads as freelance work are called "bounty hunters" in Heart. Bounty hunters take jobs from handlers and bounty boards in The Underground, or the dark web. Handlers act as a mediator between the client and the bounty hunter, but if the job is posted on a bounty board in The Underground, then the bounty hunter must come to the client to negotiate the terms of the hit and their payment. Because their job literally entails taking the lives of others, they are paid very well. The price of a hit can vary depending on the difficulty of the job, and customers can request how and when during the day they want the target to be executed. Out in public, or in the target's home? In the veil of the night or the clear light of day? Cut in half, beheaded, shot in the head, and so on.   Due to the nature of their work, a bounty hunter may also be hired as a bodyguard or mercenary due to the freelance nature of their profession.

Career

Qualifications

Since it is not an official profession, there are no requirements to be a bounty hunter. However, to succeed in this field, one must have the willingness to kill and some level of combat prowess.

Career Progression

Most bounty hunters are "nobodies," as their line of work is illicit and requires utmost secrecy. However, the best of the best (who don't choose to become a professional Hitman) become legends, known throughout the underground and those who are curious about The Underground of Altura City.

Payment & Reimbursement

For bounty hunters, their payment comes twice: the first payment is made to confirm the order, and the second payment is given once the hit is confirmed to be successful. If it occurs that the bounty hunter survives an unsuccessful hit, the client who ordered the unsuccessful hit usually posts a large bounty on the head of the bounty hunter they initially hired to ensure the silence of the bounty hunter who failed.   If the target is a public figure, then the job is usually difficult, warranting high pay. These jobs are often only taken on by the "legends" of the bounty hunting scene.

Other Benefits

None, but bounty hunters usually develop their combat abilities as they go on about their careers.
