Uldien Government

Baron Karsin Ubael, a fair and just man held in high regard by both his subjects and the king himself, theoretically holds absolute power in Uldien.
To improve his economic situation, he established a council of Aldermen in 717 TR and transferred partial goverment to this political body. The council consists of 5 members; two appointed by the Baron and three appointed by the governing council of the local chapter of the Mangai.
The Baron however has the right to veto any nominations by the Mangai. The Aldermanic council has the right to organize the market and hold court for lesser crimes (economic and private disputes mostly all cases involving the nobility or deserving capital punishment are judged by the Baron himself.
The military government rests solely with the Baron of Uldien but day-today management of his company of men-at-arms and the town militia are left to his constable Sir Selvos of Yaronne, the younger brother of one of his main vassals, the lord of Deldbar.
